Class Descriptions

3-4 yr. olds: Yoga comes alive in these imaginative and inspiring classes.  Come play with us as we journey through picture books using animal poses.  This series is filled with music, song, puppets and animated breathing and relaxation games.  All geared developmentally for your little one.               

 

 

5-8 yr. olds:   Cooperative games, theme activities, storytelling, music, and art engage the natural energy and enthusiasm of the 4, 5 and 6-year old child. Classes explore yoga poses, breathing exercises, visual imagery and relaxation techniques while conveying lessons in self-expression, body image, social skills, positive thinking, and environmental awareness.

9-12 yr. olds:   Kindling the maturing independence of this age group, these classes encourage a deeper sense of body awareness, self-exploration and interpersonal skills. Alive with flowing sequences, balancing poses, breathing exercises, and creative relaxation techniques, children are sure to relish in their selves. As well, partner poses and cooperative yoga games inspire positive peer interactions that they are sure to carry into their everyday lives. Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the physical and philosophical aspects of yoga.

Teen Kundalini:   Drawing on their experience through creative reflection, teens explore the physical and philosophical practice of traditional yoga. Teen yoginis develop body and mind strength and flexibility through yoga poses, breathing exercises, meditation and relaxation. Journaling, group discussions and valuable activities create a positive environment that supports self-esteem, body appreciation and tools for stress management.

Prenatal (One on One - Call for info): Pregnancy is one of the most special times in a woman's life. It is a time for nurturing, slowing down and learning to meditate, while being in the company of other mothers-to-be. Our classes provide safe, simple and effective exercises designed to strengthen and relax your rapidly changing body, preparing you for a conscious childbirth. Join other pregnant women as you strengthen your physical body with yoga, and bring clarity and fearlessness to your mind through meditation, and free yourself with dance. Kundalini Yoga and Meditation, as taught by Yogi Bhajan, is the inspiration of our Prenatal Yoga classes. Come discover a deeper sense of peace and harmony within, lifting blocks of fear, doubt and old conditioning out of pregnancy, birth, as well as life. .. Come share with other women in community as we create a more peaceful world through strong and conscious mothers.
